A Retrospective: Blacksheep Riesling and Dad’s 53rd Bday Cake
April 9, 2012 § Leave a comment
Because I’m a procrastinator, I had yet to start this blog after baking the BEST cake known to man (and, obviously, my father). I visited home last week because I had a hair appt (my shitty hometown is close and getting my hair…or anything..done there vs. here, is a comparative $60 to $200+). I have a lot of hair. My nicknames Mufasa/Simba are evidence of that. And, instead, of studying I obviously baked for Dad a belated phenomenal birthday cake, filled some prescriptions, drank my favourite bottle of wine from Mom’s wine fridge: Featherstone Blacksheep Riesling.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream Layer Cake
via Visions of Sugarplum (where you can check out the recipe). I didn’t make any changes.
INDEED. Layers of chocolate cake, layers of giant chocolate chip cookies, sandwiched with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and topped with a chocolate ganache. Decorated with buttercream vanilla frosting.
Nom, nom, nom.
Where I get it from. And he’s supposed to be 53.
